How to Verify that a Member's PayPal Account is PayPal Verified

Method One (preferred):

  1. Log in to your own PayPal account
  2. Type or paste this url into your browser address bar
    https://www.paypal.com/us/verified/pal=
  3. Type in or paste the member in question's full PayPal email address immediately after the "pal=" at the end  of the URL in step two (with no spaces) and hit enter/return.
  4. A status page will appear announcing whether or not the account is verified!
Method Two:(old school)
  1. Before you blindly send the member the entire amount you owe him/her simply send them one penny first.  When the transaction is complete you will be able to click upon "view transaction details" on which you will see their verification status shown clearly,

PayPal's Verification System allows you to learn more about users before you pay them through PayPal. Verify that the information below is consistent with the business, organization or person you wish to pay.

To become Verified, a PayPal member in the United States must provide us with proof that he or she has opened an account at a bank or other financial institution. Because these institutions are required by law to screen account holders, PayPal's verification process increases security when you pay parties you do not know. You should always consider other indicators when evaluating members, including length of PayPal membership and reputation scores (on eBay or other auction sites, if applicable).
