The forum is being promoted heavily with SEO, submission, and a paid-to-click campaign.
I've replicated the forum sections to be very similar to the old popular MrGPT.com forum (I find that the new forum feels 'familiar') That along with the similarly familiar mostly hands-off moderation approach (except in extreme situations) has enabled much forum growth recently.
